About the Role
As a
Roofing and Cladding Estimator , you will be responsible for preparing detailed and competitive tenders for specialist roofing and cladding projects valued between 200,000 and 4 million.
The
Roofing and Cladding Estimator will review enquiry documents, interpret technical specifications and produce accurate cost estimates across a wide variety of roofing and fa ade systems.
Working closely with the Estimating Director and wider technical team, the
Roofing and Cladding Estimator will play an important role in securing new business while supporting successful project delivery. This
Roofing and Cladding Estimator position is based from the Waltham Abbey office.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate tenders from construction drawings and client specifications.
- Producing quantity take-offs using construction drawings and Bluebeam software.
- Preparing detailed scope mark-ups and pricing schedules.
- Calculating labour, material and preliminary costs.
- Completing client bills of quantities.
- Preparing and submitting competitive tender bids.
- Researching material, labour and equipment costs.
- Attending client meetings and negotiating tender submissions.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Assisting with supplier and subcontractor enquiries and quotations.
- Supporting the preparation of technical submittals for secured projects.
- Attending project handover meetings with commercial, design and management teams.
- Maintaining accurate tender records, RFIs and submission documentation.
- Providing support to the design department where required.
- Reporting directly to the Estimating Director on technical and commercial matters before tender submission.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate should have strong experience estimating specialist roofing and cladding projects and be confident working across a range of systems, including:
- Flat roofing systems from manufacturers such as Bauder, Radmat, IKO, Axter and Kemper.
- Inverted hot melt roofing systems.
- Ballasted, paved, green and blue roof systems.
- Single-ply warm roof systems.
- Tapered insulation schemes.
- Three-layer felt warm roof systems.
- Cold-applied liquid waterproofing systems.
- CWCT aluminium rainscreen cladding systems.
- SFS lightweight framing systems including Metsec and EOS.
- Cavity barriers and fire barrier systems.
- Non-combustible cladding solutions for buildings over 18 metres.
- U-value requirements and thermal calculations.
You should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and ideally Bluebeam, with excellent communication skills and the confidence to build lasting relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
