About the Company

The business is a Mechanical, Electrical and Fire & Security contractor providing complete project delivery, including design, engineering, service coordination, programming and quantity surveying. Its work includes electrical installation and maintenance across education, healthcare and public sector environments, with services ranging from small power and lighting through to HV/LV installations, emergency lighting, standby generation and EICRs. The business has over 35 years of industry experience.

Why Join Them

The role offers genuine ownership of projects rather than being limited to one stage of the delivery process. The business has experience delivering significant electrical and M&E schemes where planning, communication and careful coordination are particularly important.

About the Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will manage electrical installation projects from pre-start through to final handover, ensuring that work is properly planned, coordinated and delivered in accordance with the required programme, budget and standards. The role will involve working across multiple projects and maintaining close communication with clients and delivery teams throughout each stage.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple electrical projects from inception through to completion.
  • Producing project programmes and coordinating labour, materials and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring progress against programme and budget.
  • Attending client and site meetings.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections.
  • Providing technical support and direction to site teams.
  • Coordinating project documentation and handover information.
  • Identifying project risks and resolving issues as they arise.

Candidate Background

You will need previous experience working as an Electrical Project Manager or similar within the building services, electrical contracting or M&E sector, together with a strong understanding of electrical installation and project delivery. The successful candidate will also need good organisational and planning skills, the ability to manage several projects and stakeholders at once, and the communication skills required to deal confidently with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

Summary

This role would suit an experienced electrical project professional who wants responsibility for the full delivery of projects rather than a narrowly defined project function. It provides the opportunity to work across a varied public-sector-led project portfolio within an established M&E contractor.
