About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of access, lifting and powered equipment. The role is split between workshop-based work and mobile/site support, keeping equipment safe, compliant and ready for use. This is a practical, hands-on Plant Fitter position suited to someone who enjoys fault-finding, varied equipment and working without unnecessary pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair access and lifting equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Work on lifts, hoists, winches and powered access systems
- Maintain rope hoists, motors and man-handleable equipment up to 2 tonne
- Attend site breakdowns when required
- Carry out inspections and safety checks
- Keep maintenance records up to date
- Work to health & safety standards
Experience required
- Proven experience
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Electrical experience beneficial
- Background in construction, access, lifting or powered equipment
- Full UK driving licence
