About the Role
As Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and commercially competitive estimates for mechanical services projects ranging from large-scale new builds through to refurbishment and maintenance works.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical installations and services projects
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Producing detailed cost breakdowns, quantities, and pricing schedules
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Working closely with project and design teams during pre-construction stages
- Assessing project risks and incorporating mitigation measures within estimates
- Supporting bid reviews and final tender submissions
- Monitoring market rates, material costs, and industry trends
- Assisting with continuous improvements to estimating systems and processes
- Managing multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
The role will suit someone with previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services or mechanical contracting. A strong understanding of pipework, HVAC, plant rooms, plumbing, and commercial mechanical installations would be highly beneficial.
