About the Role
As an Estimator, you will manage roofing and façade tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover, ensuring competitive and compliant bids are delivered on time.
This Estimator role will see you working closely with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and contractors to secure future projects and support the continued growth of the business.
Key responsibilities include
- Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, take-offs and bills of quantities for roofing and façade packages.
- Producing accurate and commercially competitive tender submissions.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and pricing.
- Working closely with directors, fellow estimators and the contracts team throughout the tender process.
- Managing tender programmes and ensuring submission deadlines are achieved.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
- Preparing risk assessments and highlighting commercial considerations.
- Responding to post-tender queries and supporting project handovers.
- Maintaining supplier pricing information and cost databases.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with contractors and supply chain partners.
The successful candidate will have
- Previous estimating experience within roofing, cladding or façade packages.
- Strong technical knowledge of systems including zinc, rainscreen, SFS and flat roofing.
- Experience using estimating software together with Excel-based take-off tools.
- Bluebeam experience.
- Excellent commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
Desirable experience
- Design and Build project experience.
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations and façade compliance standards.
- HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
