Electrical Installation & Maintenance Manager Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum DOE Location: Calne, Wiltshire, with site travel When a new public facility opens, someone needs to make sure everything works as it should. Once it is in daily use, someone needs to keep it that way. This role brings both sides together, with responsibility for the engineers doing the work and the practical knowledge to get involved yourself. An established specialist in public facilities and modular buildings is looking for an Electrical Installation & Maintenance Manager. The company works with councils and public authorities across the UK and Ireland, delivering new facilities, refurbishments and ongoing maintenance. Its work includes modular public toilets and Changing Places facilities, alongside access controls, payment systems and equipment that monitors how public spaces are used. As Electrical Installation & Maintenance Manager, you will learn these products in detail and become the person the team turns to for technical advice. About the role You will manage the installation and maintenance personnel, organise their work and supervise jobs on site. Training will be an important part of your role, helping staff understand the equipment, work safely and complete installations and repairs properly. You will also carry out electrical installation, fault finding and fitting work yourself. Some days will involve supporting an engineer through a problem; others will mean taking the tools out and resolving it together. As you build your product knowledge, you will help the team tackle recurring faults, improve working methods and maintain consistent standards. The Electrical Installation & Maintenance Manager will connect the day-to-day site work with the wider business, keeping people informed and making sure technical problems receive the attention they need. About you You will need a sound electrical background, relevant qualifications and experience in installation and maintenance. You should be comfortable with practical fitting work and able to explain technical tasks clearly to others. Your background could be in building services, facilities maintenance, access control or another electrical service environment. Experience with the company’s specific products is less important than the ability to learn them thoroughly. This could suit an experienced Electrical Installation & Maintenance Manager, a working supervisor or a senior engineer ready to take on wider responsibility. What matters is that you can manage people while remaining closely involved in the work. Contact Mark at Up Front Recruitment for more information
