About the role:
As a Value Engineer at Nerdio, you will act as a strategic advisor to customers, aligning their business and technical objectives with the value delivered by Nerdio’s platform. Your mission is to quantify and communicate Nerdio’s business impact, ensuring stakeholders clearly understand the total economic benefit of their investments in Nerdio Manager for Enterprise and related Microsoft technologies. This role bridges the gap between sales, product, engineering, and finance to develop and present compelling value narratives that resonate with C-level decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
Understanding Customer Needs:
- Engage with customers to uncover strategic business drivers, technical priorities, and financial challenges.
- Conduct detailed discovery to inform tailored solution recommendations and value modelling.
Solution & Value Development:
- Build and deliver compelling financial models and business cases showing Nerdio’s value (e.g., cost savings, productivity gains, risk reduction) via detailed VE reports and cost-benefit analyses.
- Translate technical capabilities into economic and strategic benefits aligned with customer goals.
Technical & Financial Expertise:
- Maintain a deep understanding of Nerdio, AVD, Windows 365, Microsoft Intune, and surrounding EUC technologies.
- Evaluate legacy and cloud-hosted environments for optimization opportunities (cost, performance, security, etc.).
Collaboration & Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical capabilities to strategic business use cases.
- Partner with Account Executives, Sales Engineers, Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Microsoft to craft winning value strategies.
- Present business cases to technical and executive audiences with clarity and impact.
- Communicate how Nerdio supports hard (quantifiable and tangible) and soft (intangible and subjective) benefit and can effectively articulate this to customers.
Enablement & Evangelism:
- Provide enablement to internal teams on value-based selling techniques.
- Help scale value engineering through templates, tooling, and frameworks to support repeatability.
Ongoing Improvement:
- Monitor implemented changes to validate realized value post-sale.
- Iterate on modelling frameworks based on evolving cloud economics and customer insights.
- Stay current on industry best practices, materials, and technologies that can enhance value.
Requirements and skills:
Essential:
- Strong financial acumen with ability to build ROI, TCO, and cost-benefit models.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with experience influencing C-level stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of Azure, EUC platforms (AVD, Windows 365), and cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborative and cross-functional mindset with high emotional intelligence.
Desirable:
- Experience in value engineering, pre-sales engineering, or solution architecture in SaaS/cloud.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and scripting tools (PowerShell preferred).
- Familiarity with Microsoft partner ecosystem and incentive structures.
- Citrix/AVD/Windows 365 certifications or relevant experience is a strong plus.
