Job Description
SAP Plant Maintenance
Were seeking a highly specialised SAP PM / MRO Consultant to advise, configure, and maintain our enterprise asset management fabric.
In this role, you will be hands-on in executing our digital transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring that planned end-to-end implementation results are fully realised across our aviation engine manufacturing, maintenance, and design operations.
Acting as a strategic functional advisor and configuration expert, you will implement a \"Clean Core\" architecture by driving Fit-to-Standard workshops, establishing robust asset structures, and deploying standard asset management solutions while ensuring strict compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Transition Strategy
- Business Advisory: Act as the trusted advisor to senior leadership to map high-level aviation business goals into scalable SAP S/4HANA Asset Management blueprints.
- Coexistence Support: Design temporary operational workarounds and data bridging strategies to maintain maintenance continuity during phased SAP ECC to S/4HANA rollouts.
- Landscape Strategy: Evaluate legacy customization within SAP ECC and establish a roadmap to transition towards standard S/4HANA Asset Management functionalities.
- Technical Execution & Governance
- Expert Configuration: Execute hands-on configuration of complex SAP PM / EAM modules including Technical Objects, Functional Locations, Equipment Master Data, and Work Centers.
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate end-to-end blueprinting, scoping, and Fit-to-Standard workshops with cross-functional engineering and maintenance teams.
- Value
Realization: Own the functional delivery lifecycle to ensure that planned operational efficiencies, maintenance scheduling improvements, and cost savings are fully realised.
- Functional & System Alignment
- Execution & Planning: Architect and configure the end-to-end processing of Maintenance Orders, Maintenance Requests/Notifications, and preventive Maintenance Plans.
- Structure
Management: Define and build complex technical asset hierarchies, leveraging Equipment Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Functional Location BOMs to manage component structures.
- Process
Integration: Align SAP PM configuration closely with Materials Management (MM) for rotable management, Production Planning (PP) for capacity scheduling, and QM for repair inspections.
- Ecosystem
Connection: Collaborate with integration teams to connect SAP PM with third-party enterprise platforms, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), CAD, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- MRO Subcontracting: Configure and optimize complex MRO subcontracting and refurbishment lifecycles for internal and vendor-managed engine repairs.
- Domain & Industry Compliance
- Aviation Regulation: Ensure all configured maintenance processes comply fully with CAA, EASA, FAA, ITAR, and AS9100 quality and export control standards.
- Traceability Engineering: Establish robust serialization, batch management, and equipment history tracking to guarantee absolute data genealogy for tracked engine components.
- Best Practices & Innovation
- Clean Core Implementation: Enforce the utilization of standard SAP features, standard Fiori apps, and standard APIs over custom ABAP modifications to protect the digital core.
- Predictive Frameworks: Advise on the adoption of modern asset technologies, including SAP Asset Manager, predictive maintenance strategies, and mobile work execution.
- Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Data Migration Leads, and external systems integrators to align on data standards and cutover plans.
- Documentation: Author and maintain comprehensive Business Blueprint documents, functional configuration rationales, testing scripts (UAT/SIT), and operational training playbooks.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on SAP PM / EAM consulting experience within complex, global enterprise landscapes.
- MRO Expertise: Deep, expert-level knowledge of Aerospace MRO processes, including line/base maintenance, engine overhaul workflows, and similar solutions.
- Configuration Mastery: Proven, hands-on capability to configure deep asset management structures, Equipment Master Data, Maintenance Orders, task lists, and Equipment BOMs.
- Track Record: Demonstrated experience leading at least 3 full-lifecycle SAP implementations, with a strong preference for large-scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations.
- Industry Background: Extensive prior experience operating within the Aerospace & Defence, aviation engine manufacturing, or high-tech military maintenance sectors.
- ERP Exposure: Thorough understanding of structural data model differences between SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Asset Management.
- Methodologies: Expert proficiency in operating within Agile delivery frameworks and utilizing SAP Activate methodologies.
