About Brand Hackers
Brand Hackers are fractional marketing teams for brands with big dreams. We build bespoke teams from our >25 full-time Brand Hackers and a tight-knit group of freelancers who’ve worked at the top of their game. Together, we help brands scale with the right mix of pace, pragmatism and creative flair.
The Role
We are looking for a fractional Copywriter to join the team 3 days a week. This is not a traditional copywriting role; we’re looking for a storyteller, who knows how to work at pace. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes words. Someone who understands how copy can shape a brand, create community, and make people feel something. This brand is redefining how people access mental health support. That means their words and tone matter. A lot.
From the emails they send to their community, social captions, and landing pages, to campaigns for major moments in the year, such as Mental Health Awareness Month, this brand is copy-first, and this role will be a key cog in the marketing wheel. We’re looking for someone who can lead copy and TOV, not just take briefs.
What You’ll Be Doing
This position will work closely with the brand's in-house team and alongside other Brand Hackers. You’ll lead the day-to-day output of copy across the brand, ensuring everything we publish reflects their voice and connects with their audience. That means balancing fast, reactive copy with high-impact campaign thinking. Some days you’ll be writing a community email or Instagram caption. Other days, you’ll be shaping campaign messaging for a major brand moment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Writing compelling community emails that people actually want to read
- Social media captions and content copy across platforms
- Campaign copy for key moments like Mental Health Awareness Month
- Landing page and website copy
- Working with the team to continuously evolve and sharpen the brand's tone of voice
- Ensuring consistency and quality across all written brand touchpoints - often vetting or editing other marketing team members' work
- Collaborating closely with design, marketing and leadership teams
- Acting as the in-house guardian of the brand voice
What You’ll Need
- Experience within copy-led brands that hold themselves to a high creative and brand standard
- Experience working with relatable companies (mental health, wellness, therapy, charities) or personal experience that allows you to truly believe in the brand proposition and purpose.
- An ability to work at pace, take on feedback and juggle multiple briefs that range in scope and priority.
- Exceptional project management and communication skills when working remotely.
- Flexible set up! We have a “no-dark days” policy with our brands that means we can only have 1x day per week where you are out of contact - this might only mean checking in on other days, but we can’t have you disappearing for days at a time - the brand should feel like you’re ‘in-house’ where possible.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistent flow of content delivered smoothly, on time and to a consistently high standard
- Brand feels like their TOV is clear, developing and truly understood by all marketing and management stakeholders.
- Teams working effectively and feeling well-led and supported
- Founders and brand partners who are obsessed with you!
- Brand Hackers are seen as the trusted partner behind the work.
What We Can Offer
- Salary equivalent: £45,000–£55,000 FTE
- The security of a 30 day notice period (in the worst case scenario!)
- Membership to Up World while you work with us
- Support from a lead Brand Hacker who’s got your back
- Tools, templates and a wider crew of 25+ Brand Hackers to connect with
- Many of our part-time contractors go on to work with us again and even become full-time members of the team.
