About Brand Hackers
Brand Hackers are fractional marketing teams for brands with big dreams. We build bespoke teams from our >25 full time Brand Hackers and a tight-knit group of freelancers who’ve worked at the top of their game. Together, we help brands scale with the right mix of pace, pragmatism and creative flair.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Brand Manager who is used to leading complex campaigns and business-as-usual brand building for consumer brands with very high standards. Over the coming months, you might work across a portfolio of brands or just one retained partner, leading both major project workstreams and ongoing brand activation, blending strategic clarity with exceptional delivery.
We need someone who can step in quickly, take control of moving parts and create structure and momentum without heavy oversight. For our partner brands, you will play a central role in maintaining and elevating brand standards across everything that goes out into the world. From tone of voice to visual identity to customer experience, you will care deeply about the detail and ensure that nothing slips.
You’ll be building trusting, effective relationships both with our partners and with the Brand Hackers team, asking for help where you need it, setting a clear strategic direction and prioritising ruthlessly to ensure the best possible impact from your time. You will report into different project leads depending on the brief, working as a senior operator within a wider Brand Hackers team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading complex, multi-workstream brand projects from briefing through to delivery
- Managing ongoing brand building, campaigns and activation with consistency and rigour
- Delivering through a strong cross-functional team, ensuring everyone is clear on priorities and standards
- Getting the best out of creatives, channel specialists and junior team members
- Acting as a key connector across internal teams, founders and external partners
- Owning timelines, critical paths and prioritisation across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Translating strategy into sharp, actionable briefs
- Holding a high bar for tone of voice, visual execution and overall brand experience
- Identifying inconsistencies or dilution in brand expression and proactively correcting them
- Creating clarity and forward momentum in complex situations
What You’ll Need
- Significant experience as a Head of Marketing or Senior Brand Manager (or similar) within consumer brands
- Experience within brands that hold themselves to a high creative and experiential standard is essential
- A track record of managing complex campaigns alongside ongoing brand programmes
- Experience working with brands where tone of voice, aesthetic and precision truly matter
- Strong leadership instincts and the ability to get the best out of others
- Confidence delivering through teams rather than doing everything yourself
- Exceptional project management skills and calm under pressure
- Strong judgement and taste, with a clear sense of what excellent brand work looks like
- Comfort operating autonomously in a part-time capacity
- Flexible set up! We have a “no-dark days” policy with our brands that means we can only have 1x day per week where you are out of contact.
What Success Looks Like
- Multiple initiatives delivered smoothly, on time and to a consistently high standard
- Brand experience strengthened across channels and touchpoints
- Teams working effectively and feeling well-led and supported
- Clear prioritisation and momentum across complex workstreams
- Founders and brand partners who are obsessed with you!
- Brand Hackers are seen as the trusted partner behind the work
What We Can Offer
- Freelance contract with autonomy and support
- Membership to Up World while you work with us
- Support from a lead Brand Hacker who’s got your back
- Tools, templates and a wider crew of 10+ Brand Hackers to connect with
- Many of our freelancers go on to work with us again (some even go full-time!)
Note, there is a 2x step application process for this role.
- You’ll have some questions when you hit apply
- Then you’ll get an email asking you to submit some video answers. Only after the video answers have been submitted is your application complete.
