Main shifts: Thursday to Sunday, 5pm - 11pm

Up the Crust is looking for a reliable and experienced Pizza Chef to join our team. We serve Detroit-style, deep-pan pizzas with crispy cheese edges, bold toppings and a focus on great dough, proper prep and consistent service. This is a part-time role, mainly working evening shifts from Thursday to Sunday. We are looking for someone who is confident in a busy kitchen environment and has experience making, handling and working with pizza dough.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and handling pizza dough to a high standard
- Stretching, topping and baking Detroit-style pizzas
- Maintaining consistency across all pizzas, slices, sides and prep
- Preparing ingredients, sauces, toppings and general mise en place
- Supporting service during busy evening shifts
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food hygiene standards
- Managing stock levels and communicating prep needs
- Working efficiently as part of a small team
- Helping maintain the quality, speed and energy of the Up the Crust kitchen
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a pizza chef or in a similar dough-based kitchen role
- Confidence handling, portioning and preparing dough
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety
- Ability to work independently and stay calm during busy service
- Reliable, punctual and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Availability to work Thursday to Sunday evenings
Nice to Have
- Experience with Detroit-style, pan pizza, sourdough or high-hydration doughs
- Experience in a fast-paced restaurant, takeaway, pop-up or events kitchen
- Food hygiene certificate
