About the Role
As a People Assistant (Recruitment & Administration Focus), you will play a key role in supporting end-to-end recruitment and essential People team administration across the business. You will ensure a smooth and positive experience for candidates and employees, while maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance processes. This is a busy, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build strong People and recruitment experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Coordination
- Manage end-to-end retail recruitment including job postings, CV screening, interviews, and offer coordination
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the process
- Onboarding & Team Member Administration
- Manage full onboarding process for all business roles including contracts, references, and new starter documentation
- Coordinate right to work checks, DBS checks, and other compliance requirements
- Arrange uniforms, ID badges, system access, and new starter setup
- Maintain accurate employee records and People systems
- Compliance & Documentation
- Monitor expiring employee documents and ensure compliance tracking is up to date
- Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and well-organised People records
- Assist in ensuring People processes align with employment legislation and internal policies
- Training & Coordination
- Coordinate retail training bookings
- Support scheduling and logistics for employee learning and development activities
- People Team Support
- Manage the People inbox, triaging queries and escalating where appropriate
- Provide administrative support to the wider People team as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of People and recruitment processes
About You
- Previous experience in HR or recruitment role
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to work with managers and employees at all levels
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is an advantage
- Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
