Main Function of the Position:
- To work in a busy catering department with varied outlets across the university.
- To provide a very high standard of food production and customer service and to maintain a charismatic, presentable and calm attitude meeting the University of Bolton’s high standard.
- To be able to batch or bulk cook best value good quality meals to a set budget.
- To be actively involved with further personal training to develop and improve your current skill set.
- To meet daily deadlines and targets as instructed ensuring excellent standards of food production, presentation and delivery.
- To ensure that all food production areas and kitchen equipment are maintained in a good operational state before and after each daily shift ensuring that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.
- To maintain the highest standard of hygiene and work to a set cleaning regime.
- To manage the receiving and checking of deliveries as required.
- To manage the security of the stores and fridges in the kitchen area.
- To work as a team with all departments to produce the best experience for customers and colleagues alike.
- To work on the counter and with the counter staff to generate and craft the team standards.
- To deputise for the Catering Manager/Chef when required.
- Any other reasonable task which falls within the prime objective of this job.
