Unyk Solutions are proud to be exclusively representing a well-established, privately owned specialist operating within the perimeter security and fencing sector, working across construction, infrastructure and commercial projects. The business delivers technically sound, practical solutions across a wide range of schemes, built on long-standing client relationships and consistent project delivery.
They are now looking to appoint a Commercial Sales Manager to take ownership of the commercial function and help drive the next phase of growth.
The role
This is a new leadership role reporting into the Managing Directors. You’ll be responsible for the full commercial sales process, from early opportunity and tender stage through to contract award and handover to operations. A key part of the role will be leading a small team of three across estimating and contracts support, making sure bids are commercially right, properly put together, and aligned with operational capability. You’ll be working closely with operations, design and finance to make sure the business is winning the right work, at the right margin, and delivering it properly.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and deliver the commercial sales strategy
- Lead a team of three across estimating and contracts support
- Oversee tendering, pricing and contract negotiation
- Review and sign off key bids and framework submissions
- Manage pipeline, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and consultants
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities
- Work closely with operations to support delivery and handover
- Keep commercial discipline across all bidding activity
- Represent the business externally when needed
What they’re looking for
- Experience in a commercial sales leadership role within construction, infrastructure, security or a similar project-led environment
- Strong background in tendering, estimating, pricing and contract negotiation
- Experience managing or leading small teams
- Strong commercial judgement and focus on profitable growth
- Confident relationship builder with clients and stakeholders
- Experience in fencing, perimeter security, steel fabrication or similar environments would be useful
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Ability to obtain security clearance if required
