The Opportunity
Unyk Solutions is exclusively partnering with a fast-growing, high-profile membership organisation representing a significant and influential sector of the UK economy, to find their next Marketing Director. This is a rare chance to join a small, ambitious organisation at the heart of national policy and business conversations — sitting on the Executive Leadership Team and shaping how a growing membership base engages with the brand.
The Role
As Marketing Director, you’ll own the full marketing remit for engaging members, corporate partners, sponsors and wider stakeholders — including senior figures at some of the best-known businesses in the UK, government and policymakers, and the media. You’ll lead a small team (Marketing Manager and Marketing & Communications Executive), sit on the Executive Leadership Team alongside the CEO and fellow Directors, and be a genuinely pivotal voice in how this organisation grows its influence and its membership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering the marketing and brand strategy to build recognition and reputation
- Translating member insight into targeted marketing plans that attract, engage and retain members — subscription/membership growth and retention sits at the core of this role
- Owning brand positioning and reputation development
- Leading a new website build and digital-first transformation
- Managing the annual marketing budget
- Driving multi-channel campaigns — digital, print, media, social and direct marketing — to grow awareness and membership
- Building strong relationships with the Board, colleagues and external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years’ marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a similar senior/leadership role
- Proven experience in a membership, association, or subscription-based organisation is highly desirable — you understand what drives member acquisition, engagement and retention, and how to market to a defined community rather than a mass consumer audience
- A track record of leading and developing a marketing team
- Strong all-round marketing credentials: content, CRM, social, SEO, email marketing and marketing automation
- Proven experience engaging Board-level, C-suite, B2B and high-net-worth stakeholders
- Commercially astute and entrepreneurial — comfortable in a small, fast-moving organisation where priorities shift and pace matters
- A confident, visible leader who’s equally happy setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves
What’s on Offer
The opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a growing, influential organisation with genuine national reach — working closely with senior business leaders and playing a direct role in a mission-driven movement. A collaborative, flexible, supportive culture where impact matters more than hierarchy.
