The role

Position: Trainee Claims Assessor

Location: Basingstoke or Dorking (with hybrid working)

Our assessment centres for successful candidates are scheduled for late June. Start dates will be from 31 August (to be confirmed).

Assessing Claims: Learn to manage and assess claims using medical and policy knowledge.

Customer Communication: Deliver clear, empathetic updates to customers throughout the claims process.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the Claims department while also managing your own caseload.

Service Excellence: Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, always putting the customer first.

Qualifications

  • Curious and analytical, able to investigate, spot patterns, and think critically.
  • Strong communicator confident in written and verbal communication, with a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Organised and resilient, comfortable managing varied workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Empathetic and professional, able to handle sensitive situations with care and discretion.
  • Experience in customer service, case work or financial services; similar qualifications in law, psychology, nursing or a related field are also valued.
  • Strong communication skills, keen eye for detail, natural ability to solve problems and learn new information.
