The role

Location: Hybrid (London Or Dorking with at least 1 day in Dorking per week)

Unum UK is seeking a Senior Actuarial Manager to join our Pricing team and take a leading role in shaping our pricing strategy. In this influential position, you’ll set central pricing bases, monitor emerging risk trends, drive pricing improvements, and provide insight that shapes decisions across the business. If you’re a qualified actuary with strong pricing expertise, leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement, this is an excellent opportunity to make your mark.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead pricing reviews and recommend updates to central pricing bases
  • Conduct experience analyses and monitor emerging risk trends
  • Review expenses, cost of capital, pricing yields and other key assumptions
  • Ensure pricing delivers fair value, including for vulnerable customers
  • Manage risk exposure and maintain strong pricing controls
  • Present insights to senior committees and build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Drive process improvements, enhance pricing frameworks and manage actuarial staff

About you:

  • A qualified actuary with strong pricing experience and insurance industry knowledge
  • An excellent communicator with strong analytical, problem‑solving and IT skills
  • Confident managing multiple priorities and introducing new ideas
  • Experienced in leading or coaching actuarial team members
