The role
What will you be doing?
Position: Claims Assessor
Location: Basingstoke or Dorking
Hybrid: 3 days per week in office
What will you bring?
We are looking for Claims Assessors to join us here at Unum. In this role you will play a key part in delivering financial security and support to individuals and families when they need it most.
We are looking for individuals with strong communication skills, empathy, and analytical mindsets. You will be provided with full training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
In this position you will:
- Proactively manage and assess claims, applying medical knowledge and interpreting policy documentation.
- Communicate decisions clearly and empathetically, ensuring timely and accurate updates throughout the claims process.
- Collaborate as part of our Claims department and work autonomously.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Be proactive, curious and a confident communicator via written and verbal communication.
- Ability to organise and manage work in a varied and fast-paced environment.
- Be an analytical and investigative thinker, spotting patterns and anomalies.
The ideal candidate will have a similar background in case management, insurance, banking or investigation work. Additionally, similar qualifications or experience in law, psychology, nursing or a related field have proved successful.
