The role

Actuarial Reporting Analyst. Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Dorking plus 1 additional day in Dorking, Basingstoke or London. We are willing to consider flexible working options for this position.

Unum UK are looking for a detail-oriented and technically capable Actuarial Reporting Analyst to join our Actuarial Reporting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, processes, and technical analyses in a collaborative and supportive environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering a wide range of actuarial reporting activities across US/UK GAAP and Solvency II frameworks. You will contribute to scenario and sensitivity analyses that inform both regulatory submissions and strategic business decisions. A key part of your role will involve communicating technical findings in an effective way to a range of stakeholders.

What you will bring

  • A 2:1 degree in a numerate subject, with 2 years+ experience (and/or past student member of Institute of Actuaries)
  • Experience working within an Actuarial function, ideally within Life Insurance, though backgrounds in Pensions or GI are also valued (Preferred)
  • May have worked in other reporting or analytical roles, but ideally have experience working alongside actuarial teams
  • Comfortable with technical, process-driven tasks, contributing to consistent and reliable reporting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL, R or Python (Preferred)
  • Self-motivated, logical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving
