Role
Legal Counsel (Solicitor, England & Wales) – Junior to Mid Level. This varied role offers excellent exposure and the chance to showcase your skills while growing your expertise within financial services and insurance.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Legal Counsel with various instructions from the business, including supplier and third‑party contracts, litigation, insurance policy wording, broker arrangements and product initiatives.
- Be a trusted legal advisor across the business.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and supplier agreements.
- Support new product development and business initiatives.
- Review and advise on insurance policy wordings and customer‑facing documentation/communications.
- Undertake legal research and legal/legislative updates for the team.
- Contribute to legal training and sharing knowledge across the business.
Qualifications – Essential
- Solicitor qualified in England and Wales (2+ years PQE).
- Practising Certificate.
Qualifications – Desirable
- Knowledge of the Financial Services industry from a group risk insurance product perspective.
- Experience in the financial services sector preferable.
- Knowledge of the FCA and the PRA.
- Understanding of income protection, critical illness and life insurance products in both group and individual markets.
