The role
Purpose: The Strategy Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping and delivering key elements of Unum UK’s strategy. Working in close partnership with the Strategy & Transformation Director, the role leads high-impact strategic analysis, priority initiatives and executive-ready outputs, including monitoring the external market and generating competitor insight. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy across defined strategic areas, without direct line management responsibility, and plays a key role in enabling the effectiveness and pace of the wider strategy agenda. This role also manages and supports various strategic projects working closely with SMEs and leaders.

- Monitor and analyse market trends, customer needs, competitor activity and industry developments
- Identify strategic opportunities and potential risks across the business
- Develop evidence-based insights and recommendations to inform business decisions
- Support the creation and delivery of strategic initiatives and transformation programmes
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation to shape future priorities
- Translate complex information into clear, compelling and actionable business cases
- Challenge existing thinking and drive continuous improvement through strategic insight
