UNTIL is seeking a highly motivated and experienced GDC-registered Head Dental Nurse to oversee the day-to-day operations of our dynamic dental practice in Canary Wharf, London. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure the smooth running of the practice by managing compliance, supporting clinical teams, and optimising operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements within the dental sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing account management of our dental members by establishing close relationships to ensure best possible member experience.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new team members, including dentists and dental nurses. Manage members’ onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain full CQC governance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensure dental chairs and treatment areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and manage stock control, placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal supply levels.
  • Provide operational support to dentists and nurses, troubleshooting any challenges they encounter.
  • Support a dentist or nurse in surgery when required, assisting with procedures and ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Monitor clinical waste and liaise with waste management company when needed.
  • Manage our signing in and out process for dentistry equipment.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead and manage Smile Zone Leads and Invisalign treatments, ensuring seamless integration into practice operations.
  • Train Front of House staff on how to properly open and close surgeries.
  • Act as a point of contact for clinical and operational issues, ensuring staff are well-supported and equipped to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring staff engagement and retention.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all practice policies and procedures align with CQC requirements and GDC regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Implement and manage data protection procedures in line with GDPR.
  • Ensure all staff maintain CPD requirements and training in accordance with professional guidelines.
  • Undertake medical audits on dentists in line with CQC requirements.
