Severnside Permanent contract: Monday‑Friday

The primary role of a Facilities Technician is to optimise property conditions, provide exemplary service and maintain standards while ensuring a safe working environment for all on site. The Technician will maintain a high level of quality, delivering first‑fix response to fault finding with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs and reactive maintenance
  • Monitor and record data on facilities equipment, including boilers, air compressors and cooling equipment
  • Repair fabric of a building (walls, doors, door frames, skirting boards, plaster damage to internal walls)
  • Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, including WC systems, leaking taps, water testing and draining blockage
  • Maintain high levels of water hygiene within a building
  • Perform basic electrical tasks such as replacing damaged sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses
  • Demonstrate and implement energy, environmental and sustainable practices
  • Maintain grounds and external fabric of a building, such as drainage and guttering
  • Use hand tools safely (screwdrivers, power drills, pliers, paper strippers and others used in plumbing and carpentry)
  • Control resources and stock responsibly
  • Apply principles of planned preventive maintenance
  • Prepare for refurbishment or deep cleaning of equipment and surfaces
  • Support and prepare for office moves or individual requirements
  • Assist the quality team with low‑level pest proofing requirements

Skills and experience required

  • NVQ in Plumbing – ideal
  • General building competencies such as electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
