We’re looking for an Engineering Stores Operative to join our team at our Bridgwater site, playing a key role in supporting the engineering function and keeping our operations running smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team. As a Engineering Stores Operative, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the engineering stores, ensuring parts and materials are available when the engineering team need them. You’ll play a crucial role in helping minimise downtime and supporting efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the engineering stores
- Order and replenish engineering parts and consumables
- Liaise with suppliers to source parts, obtain costings and manage lead times
- Receive, check and put away deliveries accurately
- Maintain stock control and ensure stock accuracy at all times
- Use SAP to manage ordering, stock and inventory records
- Support engineers by issuing parts and responding to requirements
- Work proactively and independently to keep stores organised and efficient
About you
- Experienced in a stores, warehouse or stock control role (ideally within manufacturing or engineering)
- Confident using systems (SAP or similar would be an advantage)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and use their own initiative
- Proactive, switched on and able to manage their own workload
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Forklift licence (training will be provided if required)
- Experience using SAP or similar systems
