We\’re looking for a motivated and experienced Transport Shift Manager to join our team at the Skelmersdale Depot. In this pivotal role, you\’ll lead by example, coach and develop your team, and drive continuous improvement across our transport operations.

  • Location; Skelmersdale Depot
  • Contract; Full time / Permanent
  • Shift Pattern; 4 on, 4 off

Transport Shift Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead your team to deliver OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) targets.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI management, DOR (Daily Operations Review), and performance coaching.
  • Manage people effectively, including performance reviews, development plans, and employee relations.
  • Champion health and safety, leading investigations and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure legal and audit compliance across shift operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve business performance.
  • Act as the escalation point for farm services issues.
  • Promote and embed MMID behaviours and succession planning.
  • Lead in meeting the criteria for DTAS best practices

What you bring to the role;

  • Proven experience in a transport or logistics leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching and team development.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Solid understanding of inbound operations
  • Desirable: CPC in Transport Management
