This position is based in Australia. The Senior Lecturer in Immunology (Teaching & Research) role is a full-time position located in Kensington, Sydney, with a fixed-term contract until 31st December 2030.
Remuneration: $155,403-$178,290 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered.
The School of Biomedical Sciences is one of the largest teaching and research-intensive schools at UNSW, inspiring the next generation of science and medical graduates while leading in the discovery and development of diagnostics, treatments, and cures.
Details of the role:
- A Senior Lecturer (Level C) will conduct high-quality research and contribute to educational excellence.
- This role offers the opportunity to shape and advance immunology research and education.
- You will drive an independent, high-impact research program and contribute to the supervision and development of higher degree research students.
- You will deliver evidence-based teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, focusing on immunology in the context of infection and disease.
- Collaborating across disciplines, you will help strengthen research networks and contribute to innovative curriculum design.
Key Skills Required:
- A PhD in Immunology or related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated track record in research with high-quality outcomes.
- Proven commitment to keeping up to date with knowledge in immunology, infection, and disease models.
- Experience in obtaining research income from competitive grants and research end-users.
- Experience in recruiting and supervising high calibre higher degree research students.
- A well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning in immunology.
- Experience in teaching and learning design using various pedagogical approaches.
- Ability to work in a team and build effective relationships.
