Role

The Population Child Health (PCH) Research Group at UNSW seeks a Senior Research Fellow (Child Health Services Research) to contribute to high-quality health services and health systems research focused on child health outcomes and inequities, including priority populations, integration of care, and the first 2000 days of life.

Responsibilities

  • Make independent and synergistic contributions to child health research within the PCH Research Group and UNSW.
  • Lead research strategy, collaboration, and outcomes; drive research excellence and leadership.
  • Contribute to high-quality publications, competitive grant acquisition, and meaningful partnerships aimed at improving health service delivery and health outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, health services, policymakers, academic partners, and provide mentorship to students, groups, and colleagues.
  • Report to the Professor; no direct reports.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in health services research, epidemiology, psychology or non-lab-based child health research.
  • Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Track record in high-quality, high-impact research with demonstrated leadership potential and capacity for research excellence.
  • Experience in translation intervention research is preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate grant income.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and willingness to attend relevant health and safety training.
