Overview
Post-doctoral Fellow – Cliometrics and Quantitative Economic History – School of Economics at UNSW. This role involves conducting independent and/or collaborative research, developing research expertise, and contributing to projects related to cliometrics and quantitative economic history. Reports to the Scientia Professor and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Engage in individual and/or collaborative research in a manner consistent with disciplinary practice.
- Create scholarly impact in the discipline recognised by peers in the advancement of knowledge.
- Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision, either independently or as part of a team.
- Establish a personal research portfolio and begin developing independent research proposals.
- Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in Economics
- Proficiency in R, Python, Stata
- Experience with collection and digitization of original archives
- Fluency in French and German (desirable)
- Strong communication skills and ability to network and collaborate across disciplines
- Demonstrated track record in high-quality research with potential for leadership and impact
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Fixed term full time until March 2027
- Remuneration: Level B from $127,947 (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
