The Opportunity

Join the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in an Education Focused role. In this role, you will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across Software Engineering, while helping to shape the next generation of software engineering professionals and computing graduates. You will contribute to teaching across Software Engineering disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, delivering engaging learning experiences that prepare students for industry and research careers. You will play a key role in curriculum development, innovative teaching practice, and enhancing the student learning experience across the School.

About You

You are an engaging and passionate educator with expertise in Software Engineering and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences. You bring the ability to contribute to an inclusive and high-performing academic environment while supporting students across a range of Software Engineering disciplines. At Lecturer level (Level B), you will contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and student support across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, while continuing to develop your teaching practice and educational innovation capabilities. At Senior Lecturer level (Level C), you will demonstrate educational leadership through curriculum innovation, mentoring colleagues, leading teaching initiatives, and contributing to the advancement of teaching excellence across the School and broader UNSW Education Focused community.

Skills & Experience

  • Lecturer (Level B): A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development. Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence. Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience in work-integrated learning (desirable). Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills. Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Senior Lecturer (Level C): A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and development. Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Experience in implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others. Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning. Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
