Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. This teaching and research role invites an individual to build an independent research program in Electrical Engineering while delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Systems and Control and related disciplines. The position offers opportunities to design learning activities, supervise HDR students, and publish high-quality research as part of a team or independently.

The role requires developing teaching, research, and industry engagement strategies. You will conduct classes, lead curriculum development, and contribute to the School’s vibrant research culture focused on energy systems, communications, robotics, and emerging technologies.

Salary & Position Details

  • Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Senior Lecturer (Level C) – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time Fixed term – 2-year convertible tenure track (potential transition to continuing appointment, subject to performance)
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience

Lecturer (Level B)

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Systems and Control, with relevant work experience.
  • Commitment to advancing discipline knowledge and staying current with developments.
  • Teaching and learning design experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
  • Knowledge or experience of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable).

  • Strong research track record with high-quality, high-impact outcomes.

  • Strong research track record and demonstrated capacity for research leadership.
