Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. There is an opportunity for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in an education focussed role. You will develop new teaching methodologies and deliver outstanding teaching and student experiences that lead to better graduates. As a Course Authority, you’ll oversee course administration and uphold academic standards. You’ll maintain professional development and support students and colleagues through mentoring and supervision of thesis and research projects, helping to shape future educators and researchers.
This role is based in Australia. The purpose of this EF role is to enable academics to specialise in Electrical Engineering education. You will devote your time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those appointed to this specialisation are expected to drive educational excellence and pedagogy development within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

Position Details
- Salary: Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturer (Level C) – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed term – 2-year convertible tenure track (2-year fixed term position with potential for transition to continuing appointment, subject to performance)

Skills And Experience
Lecturer (Level B)
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering, along with relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience and evidence in teaching, assessment and learning design, development and/or delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels across the broad field of Electrical Engineering.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
Senior Lecturer (Level C)
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering, along with relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience and evidence in teaching, assessment and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches.
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- Experience in successfully recruiting and supervising high calibre students.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action.
