Location: Kensington, Sydney
Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week)

Remuneration: $127k – $178k base (+17% super and leave loading)

Overview
The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four groundbreaking health professional education programs. These programs have seen the scope of our teaching effort broaden significantly and moving forward, shape the future Health workforce in Australia and beyond.

UNSW’s Education Focused roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities. The Lecturer / Senior lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program.
Key Responsibilities / What you will do
- Drive experiential learning (clinical placements) across the exercise science and exercise physiology program
- Contribute to curriculum development and improvement in clinical education and development at various levels
- Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Engage in discipline knowledge updating and professional development
- Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills; support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds; promote equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
Key Skills / Qualifications
Level B
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
- Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology and the ability to deliver appropriate client care
- Active engagement with discipline knowledge and professional development
- Knowledge and experience of exercise science and exercise physiology practicum/placement requirements
- Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
- Evidence of knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in student support
Level C
- Advanced clinical knowledge and ability to deliver client-centred care
- Evidence of advancing teaching practice and leading an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching
- Record of initiating curriculum development and improvement
