Overview
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Exercise Placement Lead at UNSW (School of Health Sciences). This role focuses on experiential learning and clinical placements within the Exercise Science / Exercise Physiology programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and contribute to educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
- Primary responsibility for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program.
- Drive and contribute to curriculum development and student learning experiences in line with Education Focused roles (EF).
- Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds; contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical education teams to ensure effective practicum/placement experiences.
Qualifications
- Level B: A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
- Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology; ability to deliver appropriate client care
- Active engagement with discipline knowledge and professional development
- Experience with practicum/placement requirements and clinical teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and curriculum design in clinical education at various levels
- Desirable: knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to support diverse students
- Level C (in addition to Level B): Advanced clinical knowledge; ability to deliver client-centred care
- Evidence of leading inclusive teaching practices and curriculum development
- Experience initiating curriculum development and improvement

Verification of qualifications, ESSA membership and accreditation, and a current Working with Children Check prior to appointment.
Remuneration and Conditions
- Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
- Duration: Continuing
- Remuneration: $127k–$178k base (+17% super and leave loading)
- Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must have full rights to work in Australia
- Location: Kensington, Sydney
