Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Education Focused) in Electrical Engineering

UNSW’s School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications invites applications for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Education Focused) in Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate will develop innovative teaching methods, deliver exceptional teaching, and maintain academic standards as a Course Authority. The role focuses on high‑quality teaching and pedagogy development while supporting students and colleagues through mentorship and project supervision.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary
    • Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17 % superannuation
    • Senior Lecturer (Level C) – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17 % superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed term – 2‑year convertible tenure track (potential to transition to continuing appointment on performance)
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Role Summary

  • Develop new teaching methodologies and deliver outstanding teaching and student experiences.
  • Serve as Course Authority and oversee course administration, ensuring academic standards.
  • Maintain professional development and support students and colleagues through mentorship and supervision of thesis and research projects.
  • Specialise in Electrical Engineering education and drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

Skills and Experience – Lecturer (Level B)

  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering网站和相关工作经验。
  • Commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Experience in teaching, assessment, and learning design and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.

  • Knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable).
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and TARi\’ support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Evidence of research record with high quality and impact, and desire to achieve research excellence.
  • Track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build relationships.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge ofийити health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant training.

Skills and Experience – societat (Level C)

  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering and relevant work experience.
  • Commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Experience in teaching, assessment, and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evident teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
  • Experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
  • Evident ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Research record with high quality and impact; desire for research excellence and leadership.
  • Experience in recruiting and supervising high calibre students.
  • Strong teamwork, cross‑disciplinary collaboration and relationship building.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
