This position will provide forensic mental health legal academic leadership for the Master of Forensic Mental Health program within the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health. You will contribute to all aspects of the development and delivery of the UNSW Masters of Forensic Mental Health program, including leading the preparation and planning required to deliver core and elective courses. You will be expected to apply a reflective teaching approach that inspires learning, while designing and delivering high-quality online and in-person activities.

Key Skills And Experience Required

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications in a field relevant to Forensic Mental Health Law (e.g. undergraduate and/or postgraduate law degree), and/or relevant work experience (e.g. experience as a practising lawyer in mental health contexts).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of current issues in forensic mental health law.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at postgraduate level in the forensic mental health field.
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with relevant industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, including in a leadership role; collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
