As our first Product Designer, you will be thoughtful, empathetic and experienced in your approach to designing and building products that have a meaningful impact. You will work in close collaboration with our Product Lead and Engineers, from inception to implementation, you'll be an essential part of every phase of our product development process.
Your role will encompass the entire product design spectrum, from Product Discovery to crafting seamless User Experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prototyping
- User Testing
- Interaction & Visual Design elements
You'll delve into interaction design, shaping underlying conceptual models to enhance user engagement. You'll be tasked with creating captivating visual designs (UI), from composition to typography and branding and will be obsessed with designing a magical product with extraordinary outcomes.
At Unlikely AI, we believe User Experience extends beyond just interface design; it encompasses every interaction and touchpoint that adds value to our customers' journey. Unlike other companies, this role will be much more than just interface design. You will own the success of the end-to-end product. There will be some overlap of product management work within this role.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Product Design experience, ideally consumer-focused products.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing impactful and visually stunning work, exceptional design skills, with expertise in both User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design.
- Solid experience of user testing and prototyping to achieve human-centred design solutions.
- Previous experience of effective collaboration with engineering teams.
- Highly proficient working in current design and prototyping tools, like Figma.
- Strong understanding of usability and user experience principles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to lead discussions on design concepts.
- Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Location: We are currently operating a hybrid scheme with a small office near Holborn tube station available to anyone who wants to work there. We also have occasional team days where everyone meets face to face and days where people work heads down from home, communicating with colleagues using Slack and Zoom.
Compensation: Compensation will be through salary and generous share options. The company has a tax-efficient EMI share option scheme set up which allows us to provide real exposure to the success of the company without taxes being due when they are paid.
