About the Role
We are looking for a technically capable, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and helping clients get the most from technology.
This is not a traditional support role.
While you will assist the Service Desk with escalated incidents when required, your primary responsibility will be delivering technical projects, designing and implementing solutions, improving client environments, and acting as a senior technical resource across the business.
You’ll work across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, security and endpoint management, helping both clients and the internal team deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Solutions & Projects (Primary Focus)
- Design, implement and document technical solutions for clients.
- Lead or participate in infrastructure and cloud migration projects.
• Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 technologies including
- Exchange Online
- Share Point Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Implement Azure services where appropriate.
• Design and implement secure networking solutions including
- Firewalls
- VPNs
- Switching
- Wireless networking
- Deliver Microsoft Intune deployments including Autopilot and endpoint security.
• Assist with security improvement programmes including
- Conditional Access
- MFA
- Secure Score improvements
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, runbooks and handover documentation.
- Create automation using Power Shell where appropriate.
- Work with clients to understand business requirements and recommend practical solutions.
- Technical Consultancy
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for clients.
- Carry out technical assessments and health checks.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, resilience and operational efficiency both internally and for our clients.
- Assist with technical roadmaps and lifecycle planning.
- Recommend best practice and modern Microsoft solutions.
- Service Desk Support (Secondary Focus)
- Provide support for escalated incidents.
- Assist with major incidents and problem management.
- Resolve complex technical issues that require senior engineering expertise.
- Ensure tickets are updated with clear technical notes and resolutions.
- Assist with maintaining SLA performance during busy periods.
