We have an opportunity for a Technical Asset Manager to lead on the asset management delivery across UPP’s portfolio of university partners in London and the Southeast, specifically planning and delivering life cycle and asset replacement programmes, delivering refurbishment, modernisation and sustainability projects as well supporting defect management.

You will lead on intelligent asset management planning, including condition analysis and data gathering on the estate, analysing trends, and working on options appraisal to inform long and short term investment strategies. This role operates in a small regional team which includes an Assistant Technical Asset Manager and is led by a Regional Technical Asset Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct analysis of asset condition and replacement cost profiling for the preparation of short, medium, and long-term lifecycle works programmes to inform asset investment planning and strategic decision making on UPP’s assets.
  • Manage, coordinate, and undertake condition surveys to prepare lifecycle works programmes including details, prioritisation, timing and cashflow of proposed works, for approval by SPV Boards and agreement with university partners in line with contractual obligations.
  • In the preparation of the lifecycle works programmes work closely with UPP colleagues to consider and include analysis of condition, energy and sustainability, student feedback, University partner perception/feedback, occupancy data and market analysis.
  • Carry out tendering, procurement, delivery and monitoring of asset investment projects and annual lifecycle works and related projects in conjunction with our operational site teams, and contractors to ensure that all deliverables are to schedule, within cost and meet the output specification and contractual standards including appropriate project controls and risk management processes.
  • Be responsible for the approval of Purchase Orders (POs) raised by our operational site teams for lifecycle items in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Work with finance colleagues to raise POs for lifecycle works and align these POs with packaged construction contracts including ‘receipting’ in line with Certificates.
