As a highly focused professional service directorate, we make a significant impact on the University’s ability to achieve its ambition of offering an outstanding and valuable experience, and to support our colleagues in achieving excellence in research, teaching and the student experience.

We provide a collection of professional services which contribute to the quality of the student and staff experience. The Finance Department leads the delivery of efficient, accurate, and compliant financial operations across the university together with financial planning, forecasting/budgeting and business partnering services. The Department is central to driving financial awareness, value for money, consistency, standardisation and process improvement across finance functions, while ensuring alignment with sector-specific regulatory requirements, audit standards, and institutional policies. By promoting service excellence and operational efficiency, we support the university’s financial sustainability and contribute to its strategic goals in a complex and evolving Higher Education environment.

As a Student Systems Analyst, you can look forward to joining an enthusiastic and friendly team who work in partnership with finance and colleagues across the University to provide high quality administrative systems and services to support the student experience at York. You will also provide day-to-day support across a number of areas including the Fees team, resolving problems as they arise and identifying areas for future improvement and development.

If you are a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with experience of software development and service change projects through all phases from initial analysis and process mapping, through to live deployment, we would be interested in hearing from you. You must have strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and be willing and able to learn new systems and processes quickly.
