Overview

Reward Manager role at the University of York. This is an interim 16-month fixed-term position to cover the current Reward Manager\’s secondment to a HR & Finance Transformation project.

Role

As the Reward Manager, you will lead the Reward team\’s day-to-day activities to ensure the successful delivery of all reward-related work. This includes implementing pay awards, flexible benefits renewals, recognition schemes, and managing job evaluation and salary benchmarking processes to ensure fair and competitive decision-making. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and analytics to senior managers and colleagues on reward matters. You will also be responsible for managing the University’s remuneration committees and delivering the university\’s annual pay gaps report and other reward equality reporting. Finally, you will embed the recently updated academic promotions criteria and processes, offering expert guidance to both staff and panel members.

Key Requirements

  • Level 6 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include an undergraduate degree)
  • Proven, demonstrable reward experience at professional/manager level with strong technical skills and knowledge of best practice
  • Spreadsheet capability to an advanced level
  • Understanding of reward issues in higher education (desirable)
