The Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions, and Outreach (MRAO) department is part of the broader Global Recruitment, Marketing, and Admissions (GMRA) Directorate. MRAO promotes the University’s study opportunities, engages with schools and colleges, drives access and outreach, and manages applications and admissions.

While embedded in MRAO, this role operates across the wider GMRA directorate to support projects led by MRAO and International Recruitment, Partnerships, and Mobility (IRPM) . These initiatives focus on expanding global brand visibility, developing new growth opportunities, and delivering measurable strategies aligned with the University’s international objectives.

Role

We are seeking an adaptable Business Analyst with Project Management experience to join our Systems, Data, and Operations team. You will lead and contribute to key systems development, process reviews, and project delivery across GMRA, with a particular focus on the Admissions function and overall applicant experience. The first major project will be supporting the development of a flexible application form

In this role, you will help align operational systems and processes with the University’s strategic imperatives, supporting the diversification of educational provision and enhancing experiences for applicants and external partners.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • Qualifications: Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to influence individuals from diverse backgrounds and translate stakeholder needs into clear business requirements.
  • Analytical Insight: Ability to gather, analyse, and interpret complex data to deliver clear reports and evidence-based recommendations for process improvement and project reports
  • Project Delivery: A strong track record of project completion, delivering work at pace, and managing varied initiatives independently.
  • Working Style: Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, with strong initiative and problem-solving skills.

Location & Working Pattern

This role is based on-site at our Heslington campus in York, UK. Regular campus attendance is required for in-person meetings, collaborative workshops, and supporting all key university events, including Open Days and Post-Offer Visit Days.
