The welfare and security team is a new team being set up within the University of Worcester's Community & Security Team (C&ST). The core mission is to support the wellbeing and safety of our students, creating a secure, welcoming, and positive environment where they can thrive academically and personally. We work to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and respected across all University sites.

In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the student experience by building strong, positive relationships within the campus community. Through proactive engagement and care, we aim to foster a safe and inclusive environment that prioritises student welfare above all else. A key part of the role involves signposting students to relevant University and external support services, ensuring they receive the help and guidance they need for any welfare or wellbeing concerns.

While student welfare is at the heart of what we do, the role also includes supporting the security aspect of the C&ST in protecting University assets and individuals from harm or loss, ensuring a secure setting for learning and growth.

  • Shift work required (including nights, weekends, and bank holidays)
  • 42 hours per week across St Johns, City Centre, and satellite sites
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Interviews will be held week commencing 26th January
  • Annual incremental increase up to £25,733, with the opportunity to progress to £26,942, subject to performance and the university reward scheme
  • 32 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days), rising to 37 total days after 5 years continuous service

Please note that this post does not meet the minimum salary requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post who will require sponsorship to work in the UK.
