Lecturer / Lecturer (Teaching) in Criminology in Worcester

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Lecturer (Teaching) to join our Criminology team. The successful applicant will form part of an enthusiastic and motivated team delivering the BA and MA Criminology Programmes at the University of Worcester and partnered sites, which include collaborative provision with Policing, Forensic Science, Forensic Psychology and Sociology. We aim to ensure that our Criminology students are offered an outstanding student experience, and the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a commitment to contribute to this aspiration in a very practical and positive way.

We are particularly interested in applications from candidates with expertise in broader criminology topics (e.g. criminal justice policy, global perspectives, human rights) and particularly quantitative research methods drawn from an academic or practice field. Criminology at Worcester sits within the School of Health and Wellbeing. The school comprises three departments, whereby Criminology sits within the department of Community, Social Justice and Health. We are a forward-thinking, dynamic, creative community dedicated to personal growth and continuing professional development in the fields of criminology and related subjects.

Successful applicants will be confident and competent in teaching across a range of topics and levels within Criminology, as well as providing supportive personal academic tutoring and dissertation supervision to students. Successful applicants for the lecturer role will also demonstrate a clear engagement and competency in research activity and practices commensurate with the stage of your career. Your teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research- or practice-inspired. You will join a growing team with a strong sense of purpose and a firm commitment to making a difference.

As the role will also require you to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across the university and wider community, you will need a high level of interpersonal skills.
