The University of Worcester is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated University Apprenticeship Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our apprenticeship provision. Since launching degree apprenticeships in 2018, the University has developed a diverse and strategically important portfolio spanning health, education, and public services. With strong employer demand and increasing regulatory expectations, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key area of University activity.

Reporting to the Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement, you will provide operational leadership and strategic support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant and impactful apprenticeship programmes. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working in line with University policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and operational management of apprenticeship provision across the University
  • Lead and develop a small team supporting funding compliance and recruitment
  • Work closely with academic Schools and Professional Services to deliver an outstanding apprentice and employer experience
  • Play a central role in implementing and embedding the University’s Apprenticeship Strategy
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements set by Ofsted, OfS, DfE/DWP and/or Skills England
  • Act as a key University contact for employers, partners and external stakeholders
  • Lead preparations for external inspections and audits
  • Oversee performance monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to employer engagement, recruitment activity, and sector development

About You

  • Significant knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules and policy
  • Experience working within the apprenticeship or work-based learning environment
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in higher education or apprenticeships
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of leading or developing teams and working collaboratively across organisations
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret performance and compliance data

Experience of working with employers and supporting apprenticeship delivery in a higher education context, as well as knowledge of Ofsted inspections, would be advantageous.
