Estates Management is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced electricians to support the University estate in Wolverhampton to join the effective and efficient Maintenance Teams.

You shall have served a registered apprenticeship or equivalent training in specifically the electrical installation trade. He/she should be experienced ideally in an industrial/commercial environment and must hold:

  • an NVQ Level 3 or approved equivalent in Electrical Installation
  • the City and Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory Part 2 Course or approved equivalent
  • completed a recognised course on BS7671: 18th edition of the I.E.T. Regulations up to and including all current amendments

Post apprenticeship/training experience will be required with evidence of appropriate competency. Working under the direction of the Technical Supervisor, you will primarily undertake electrical work which would include:

  • fault finding
  • repairs and alterations to the various building services throughout the University

A degree of cross trade flexibility is a feature of the work, once appropriate training has been given, or prior training has been validated. Holding an Inspection and Testing qualification is also desirable.

You will be required to participate in an "on call" rota and must therefore hold a current driving licence which may mean you have to use your own transport for "call out" purposes. Travel will be required throughout the University estate as well as in and around the West Midlands.
