We are seeking an enthusiastic Head of Business Continuity and Major Incident Planning to work in our Corporate Compliance Directorate and reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Compliance. You will be a self-starter with a proactive approach and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and role focus
The role involves leading and developing the Universityβs business continuity and major incident planning capabilities. The post holder will work with senior staff and external partners, monitor the effectiveness of procedures, and ensure actions are completed to protect continuity of operations. Team working and flexibility are essential.
Qualifications and requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent; initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence presenting to groups both large and small.
- Strong analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills; ability to use ICT packages effectively and communicate through all media.
- Ability to handle matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature; liaise with senior staff and external partners.
- Proactive, professional approach with good organisational capabilities; ability to meet deadlines with high accuracy and work under pressure.
