UWM Residential Dining is hiring student leads to help support and guide daily operations. Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, cashiering, and sanitation while providing excellent customer service and supporting team members. Leads are expected to model reliability, follow safety protocols, and help train new staff.
Physical requirements:
- Stand continuously for a minimum of 4 hours
- Lift up to 40 lbs. repeatedly, including reaching outward, upward, and sideways
- Maneuver throughout a kitchen environment, and utilize kitchen tools safely
Duties may include:
- Train new staff and provide team support
- Assist with and oversee all phases of food preparation
- Provide customer service in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Maintain sanitation standards and portion control
- Oversee serving station setup and restocking
- Monitor beverage dispensers and condiments
- Ensure FIFO stock rotation
- Support cash/card handling and register operation
- Assist with dishwashing
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled UWM student
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- 1 year of food service experience preferred
- Must have availability to work 15-20 hours/week (Mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends)
- Willing to learn and follow instructions
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to work quickly and accurately while maintaining a pleasant attitude
- Able to move efficiently in a kitchen environment
