The Campus Management Team at the University of Winchester is looking for Caretaker/Porters to join its busy team in the Estates and Facilities Department. The postholder will be part of a team who are responsible for caretaking/cleaning and portering duties across the University’s beautiful campus. The post holder will be responsible for deliveries and collections across the campus as well as post room duties, lifting and moving furniture, deep cleaning regimes and recycling duties.

The Caretaker/Porter will be rostered to work across the three shifts on a rotation basis, so candidates will need to be flexible and able to work all 3 shifts. Regular weekend work is required, however we would expect staff to work no more than 2 weekends in 4.

  • Shift patterns across the day:
    • Early 06.00-14.00 hrs
    • Middle 10.00hrs–18.00 hrs
    • Late 14.00hrs–22.00 hrs

Our ideal candidate will be reliable and will have:

  • Worked in a customer focussed environment
  • Experience of driving larger vehicles (vans)
  • Experience of cleaning and caretaking duties
  • A Team Player with an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work tasks
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
