Are you passionate about food service and leading a team to deliver an outstanding customer experience? We are looking for a proactive and experienced Catering Team Leader to join our vibrant and fast-paced catering operation at the University of Winchester.
As a key member of our team, you’ll oversee daily catering operations, support the preparation and delivery of high-quality food, and help ensure smooth service across a wide range of events—from student meals to banqueting functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team in delivering a high standard of food service.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking to support kitchen operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, and allergen regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve queries professionally.
- Coordinate with other departments for events such as Open Days and conferences.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, and time efficiency.
- Cover evening and weekend shifts as required by business demands.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to train
- Level 2 Allergen Awareness Certificate or willingness to train
- Previous experience as a team leader or supervisor in a catering environment
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
- Previous banqueting or large-scale event catering experience
- A proactive, flexible attitude and a passion for delivering great food and service
What we Offer:
You’ll be employed on a 5 in 7 contract, meaning some weekend and evening work is required. Days off in the week will be provided to balance your schedule. Flexibility is essential, especially to support high-profile events, staff absences, or peak periods.
