The Academic Success team, which sits within the wider Student Support and Success Department, are looking for an Academic Skills Tutor (English Language Specialist) to join their busy and vibrant team.

The post-holder’s main duties are to provide high quality academic skills and English language support to students from across all programmes and levels, helping them to meet the challenges of university study and to reach their academic potential. This will include assisting students in one-to-one appointments, generic and tailored group workshops (including in-curriculum), and transition activities. The post holder will work across the student body but with a specific focus on supporting students who have English as an additional language. The post holder will also provide support to the academic peer-led learning schemes and other administrative duties as required.

You will have a first degree or equivalent, an English Language Teaching qualification (DELTA, CELTA or similar), substantial experience of English Language teaching and experience of teaching academic skills or key skills to adults or secondary school/college students. An ability to relate to a wide range of students and excellent communication skills are essential, together with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
